Photo from today’s glorious hike … somewhere between Montcuq and Lauzerte! (No jokes please, French speakers.)
I had an appointment this morning to visit my neighbor Leonce; but unexpectedly, I was needed to hike today. Just before I set off to drive to Montcuq to meet the hikers, I drove over to Leonce’s to tell him that I didn’t have the time to see the stone replica he had made of l’eglise de Notre Dame de Latour … which he had constructed on the hill above his house.
I told him I didn’t have time to chat, I had to hurry to meet the hikers and he said in French something that I translated as: “Why are you hurrying? Don’t hurry your life. The only thing you’re rushing to is death.”
Leonce is wise. I will heed his wisdom and slow down.
